30 week babies' update

We had another doctor's appointment today! Jessica (I quote) says that she is miserable. We can't wait to meet our babies. Today during the doctor's appointment she tried to persuade the nurses to move up the due date and while they said she was very convincing the due date didn't budge. They once again told us everything is perfect. Apparently, Jessica is "meant to do this". She's good at growing babies. She has good amniotic fluid and placentas. The babies are both head up. The boy is 3 lbs. 11 oz. and the girl is 3 lbs. 14 oz. At this rate in 3 weeks they will both be 5 lbs. That is the size Jessica and Hillary were when they were born. The doctor is hoping for additional weight gain. Jessica says "the pain is worth it because the babies are healthy". We have everything ready to go at home. Well, at least we think we do. Now it's just a waiting game and it's a loooooooong game. Officially there are 8 weeks left and with the way they are gaining weight, they will both be 8 lbs. by then. We both think that they are coming sooner than the scheduled August 22 c-section. Stay tuned for further developments.

TWINS!!!

We had our first Doctor's appointment on Wednesday, January 30. We were both really excited to hear the heart beat and see the sonogram. When we got into the patient room. We asked the nurse what is the chance of us having twins because my wife is a twin. She said if you are faternal then the fact that her mom dropped to eggs it is more likely for my wife to drop to eggs. We both said ok and moved on. Well, the doctor came in did some test they had to do then did the sonogram. While he was moving the sonogram around I saw the baby on the left with a heart beat that looked like butterfly wings. Then he moved it again and then I saw the one on the right more butterfly wings. I knew before the doctor said anything that we are having twins. The Doctor this says "I don't get the chance to say this to twins but, you are having twins yourself." Just hearing coming out of the doctor's mouth made my mouth drop wide open. Then I started crying. Not and "HOLY SHIT" Cry but a happy cry. We we shocked and excited at the same time.

As soon as the Docotor's appointment was over we started calling our parents. Both sets of parents were really excited. (This is the short version).

The first question people as me is, how do you feel? Well...let me tell you how I feel...I am overwhelmed but excited at the same time. I had my mind set and ready for one baby. But now I have to be ready for 2 babies. My first thought was oh my...I am going to have to get 2 of everything...But the more I thought about it, I thought you know what, God wouldn't of given us 2 at the same time if we couldn't handle it.

Needless to say we are EXCITED!!!

"Keep on Keepin' on"
